This half term we have been learning all about the seaside. We used a technique called collage to create our favourite seaside.
In Pearl class, we like to visit the seaside at Cleethorpes, Skegness and Bridlington.
Our favourite things to do at the seaside are: riding on the donkeys, building sandcastles on the beach, eating ice cream and paddling in the water.
Do you like our seaside collages?
Can you spot anything from your favourite seaside on there?
Over the past few weeks, we have been having a taster of what it is going to be like in Y3. We are moving up into Aquamarine Class in Y3 and our new teacher is Miss Croxall. Our new teaching assistant is going to be Miss Beckingham.
Lots of things are going to be different next year. We will have a different classroom, a different cloakroom to put our things away in and different toilets to use but most of all, we have to go up some stairs to get to our new classroom.
Click here to check out Aquamarine class blog here to find out what they have been up to this year. All the exciting learning that we will do in Y3 will be on this blog too.
We are very excited to becoming Y3s but we will miss Miss Varley and Miss Morris.
The final piece of homework given is to be completed over the holidays. Can you do any of the things on the list below? Send some photographs and a message to Miss Croxall to let her know all of the fun things that get up to in the holidays.
They could be:
- Ride a bike in the sunshine
- Visit the seaside and look at how it different to Manor Top
- Go in the garden on a bug hunt.
- Visit the library and take part in the Summer Reading Challenge. Click here for more information.
- Eat an ice cream with your friends

Any photographs or messages can be sent to email@example.com
This week’s Superstar Writer of the Week is…
All of the adults in Pearl class have been blown away by your writing this week. You make sure that your handwriting is neat, you can read your writing back to check and edit it and it is packed full of interesting vocabulary and sentence types to add excitement to your writing. Fantastic effort – Y3 are lucky to have you!
This week’s superstar in Maths is…
You were awarded this because of your hard work in maths throughout the year. You have improved your mental maths skills and how quickly you can recall your times tables. Well done! Keep it up in Y3!
As a special treat, we got the opportunity to have an extra gymnastics session with Rachael. We asked us what we could remember about gymnastics from our last session with her and she was super impressed with what we were able to remember.
Our first job of the morning was to learn how to do a headstand safely.
Can you remember what Rachael said? Which 2D shape did we have to remember?
We had to balance very carefully on our heads and see how still we could be, without falling over.
Our next job was to practise making a bridge with our bodies.
Finally we had a go at just balancing on our hands. This was called a frog balance.
Thank you for spending time with us this year Rachael. We have loved learning gymnastics with you.
