World Book Day 2019

This week we celebrated World Book Day across school. Lots of children, and teachers too, got dressed up as their favourite characters and came to school for a day of reading and fun!

A big thank you to all of our parents and carers for putting in so much effort into everyone’s costumes! Everyone looked amazing!

We had to decorate our classroom door as our favourite book. At the minute, Pearl Class love reading stories by Roald Dahl so we decided to decorate our door with the first Roald Dahl story we read which was the Enormous Crocodile.

Everyone helped out with making our door entry and we had lots of fun creating the crocodile. We have also read other stories by Roald Dahl. They are The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me; The Twits and we are currently reading George’s Marvellous Medicine.

Do you have any recommendations for us about which story to read next?

Drop us a comment at the end of our post if you’d like to help us choose our next class story.

Next we had a walk around school to see everyone else’s doors and see which story they choose to decorate their door with. We were so impressed with everyone’s efforts – Well done everyone!

Which door is your favourite?

Next week, everyone will receive a £1 book token that they can spend on a special World Book Day book or use it towards a book when the Book Fair comes to school soon!
