Christmas 2019

Christmas is such a busy time of year at school and this year has been no exception.

We kicked off our celebrations with our annual FS and KS1 Christmas workshop. It was fabulous to see so many parents and carers coming to join in with us and get into the festive spirit. Thank you to everybody who came.

Next we were treated to a special performance of Aladdin after one of our brilliant Y6 children won a competition. We loved Aladdin!

Then it was time for us to put on a performance of our own in our nativity.

In the midst of all of the performances, we got busy with some Christmas crafts and activities. Our first job was to create a puppet and we used our sewing skills to sew the two pieces of materials together.

We love our finished designs, what do you think?

We set to work to make Christmas cards for our loved ones.

Our final activity was to create a calendar for 2020.

Before we broke up for the holidays, we had time for a Christmas party and disco!

A special visitor even had the time to pop into school and say hello!

We would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

See you back at school on Monday 6th January 2020.

Y2 at the Pantomime

Y2 were so lucky and got the opportunity to visit the pantomime down at City Hall. We jumped on the tram and were so excited when we arrived.

The pantomime was Beauty and the Beast and there were lots of songs we could join in with. There was even a naughty cat and rabbit that made an appearance on the stage and we had to shout ‘They’re behind you!!’ to help the characters to know where they were.

After the pantomime, it was time for lunch and then it was party time. Santa even made a special appearance, taking the time out of his busy schedule. We were given a huge sack of presents that we could take back to school and share between each other.

We would like to say a big Prince Edward thank you to the charity Variety who gave us the amazing opportunity to be able to let us attend. We had the most fantastic time and really enjoyed ourselves. THANK YOU!

After weeks of practice, it was time for our Y2 Nativity Performance. We worked hard to learn the songs, rehearsed our lines and had a brilliant time putting on the nativity for our grown ups.

Variety Christmas Pantomime

Today we have had an amazing time at Sheffield City Hall at the Christmas Pantomime and Party. We were invited by the charity Variety and we had been looking forward to it all week.

We left school and caught the tram to City Hall. We love catching the tram on our trips as it gives us chance to see parts of Sheffield that we wouldn’t normally see. On the way we saw Ponds Forge (the swimming pool), lots of shops and the Cathedral. Our final stop was City Hall – We had arrived.

The pantomime was Dick Whittington and we thought it was brill. We got to dance, sing along  and help the characters if they got stuck. One of our favourite parts was shouting, ‘He’s behind you!’

Then it was lunch time. We had pizza, chicken nuggets and chips. What a delicious treat!

In the afternoons, it was time for the party. Even Miss Varley got up on the stage to dance and show us some dance moves. A special visitor arrived in the middle of our dancing… It was SANTA!

Finally the party finished, we got our coats on and got the tram back to school. Every child was given a present from Santa and we loved them.

Thank you so much Variety for letting us come. It was the best trip ever!
